On April 23rd I raced for the 3rd time in Barbados.
The start was given at 8:30 AM because of the high temperature. The swim went relatively smooth and I was able to lead with an American for half of the swim. I exited the water first and I ran as fast as I could hoping for a break in the pack.
Once on my bike, I was solo with one American but I understood quickly she didn't want to work and wanted to wait for the pack behind us. We got caught by over 10 girls 2k into the bike. From there it was on and off; sometimes everybody would work together sometimes anyone would want to take the lead. Thus says, the bike wasn't too hard and we got off all together. The T2 was congestionned and I wasn't really quick onto the run course.
As the run started I found myself closing with the girls who had a better T2 and at 1k I was with the leaders. Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep up and I slowly fell down a couple a spots and crossed the finish line in 8th place.
It was definitely not my best race, but I looked back at the race and took some stuff to work on for the next one.
Next up: Richmond CAMTRI 2017
