On the first weekend of May I raced Richmond CAMTRI.
The Elite Women's start was given at 1:30 PM. This start is a little special because it's the only one that we are starting in the water, with water up to our thighs. I was number 3 and I choose the far left side to try to avoid trouble. My start was quick enough to get me out of trouble and I swam up to the first buoy beside two other girls. Turning the only buoy I ended up leading (well there was one Brazilian that was swimming solo out front, so second ;) ) the way back. I tried to keep us as close as possible to the girl in front and I got out of the water about 15 seconds behind.
I had a good T1 and Eli (one of my training partner) as well and we were able to join the first girl. We rode all three together for half a lap before one American joined us and then pull away, at the same time as we pulled away from the other girl. For about 5k we rode only the two of us, trying to stay away from the rest of the field. Then we were about 10 girls together. There wasn't really anyone wanting to take the lead and we ended loosing time on the leader.
The first part of the run was good and I was in 5th place with two other girl. The second lap was a little tougher and I finished in 8th place, again...
Next up: Dunkerque, French Grand Prix.
