On september 22nd I travel towards Ecuador to compete in my last race of the season. The World Cup in Salinas was a sprint distance with a beach start in the ocean.
The start was given at 8 AM for the women's race. I had a great start and I was able to swim without battling anyone. Slowly I moved a bit to the right side to try to get some fast feet as the fastest swimmer were there. The first bouy went smoothly and right away I knew I was in a good position. I moved up a couple a spot before exiting the water 10 seconds behind the leaders.
Unfortunatly, I had a really bad T1, which made me missed the front group by only a couple of seconds. I rode in pack of 4 girls for about 7km and then the group behing joined us. We were able to worked hard enough so that we didn't loose to much time on the leaders.
T2 was good and I exiting the transition in 13th place. I didn't have the best run and lost couple of places to finished 17th, which is my best result in a World Cup ever.
